To us
Sangha- a Buddhist term for our community of people, unbounded
by time and space, who practice The Way (of Awareness) together.
9/11
~ Essay, "Dream" by J.B. Priestly, circa 1956
Priestly wrote that he had imagined standing on a high tower
watching birds who suddenly burst into white flame. "I
knew that this white flame was life itself," Priestly
concluded, "What I had thought was tragedy was mere emptiness
or a shadow show; for now all real feeling was caught and
purified and danced on ecstatically with the white flame of
life."
~ Madonna at her Los Angeles concerts, Sept. 13-15, offered
her thoughts regarding 9/11~
"Each and every one of us should look inside our own
hearts and examine our own personal acts of terrorism... It's
not just bin Laden, it's all of us. We've all contributed
to hatred in the world today."
Life
The miracle is not that there is life within the universe;
the miracle is that there is a universe within life. The miracle
is not that consciousness evolved out of the universe; the
miracle is that the universe evolved out of consciousness.
The miracle is not that the here/ now contains a you; the
miracle is that you contain a here/now. Oh, my ancient companions,
wake from your long sleep, there is so much I have to show
you.
~ Except from the Translarian Record, an unfinished manuscript
by Harry Palmer,
which chronicles the spread of sentient life throughout the
Milky Way galaxy.~
The mind
If you use your mind to study reality, you won’t understand
either your mind or reality. If you study reality without
using your mind, you’ll understand both. People capable
of true vision know that the mind is empty. ~ Bodhidharma

Time
To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower-
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour…
~ Excerpt from Auguries of Innocence (1804) by William Blake
